Supporting the 26, 26, 26 Challenge

Engage are proud to support a number of charitable causes throughout the year, however we are particularly privileged to be supporting Joshua Chamberlain in his 26,26,26 challenge to raise money for Crohns and Colitis UK.

This is a charity especially close to our heart as it supports our Operations Director who suffers with Ulcerative Colitis.

Josh’s Story

“My name is Joshua Chamberlain, I am 23 and serving in the British Army.

September the 23rd 2020 I will be starting my 26, 26, 26 event for the Crohns and Colitis UK charity. This is me running 26 marathons in 26 days wearing 26lbs of kit (body armour).
This charity is very close to my heart as earlier last year I got diagnosed with Crohns disease.

I had just passed one of the military’s most arduous courses called P Company. A few weeks after passing this course I fell ill, lost a lot of weight and one test after another I got the bad news being diagnosed with Crohns.

Luckily I have been able to overcome the restrictions that Crohns places on me however there will be sufferers who have a constant battle against the severity of their condition. Therefore I am able to attempt the challenge of a more physical charitable event so I made up the 26, 26, 26. I hope to raise a tonne of money and a huge amount of awareness for Crohns and Colitis, helping those who suffer and who really are in need of serious help and treatment. I am also doing this to show people that you can do more than your mind believes is possible, showing people you can still keep plodding on even when the going gets tough.

Please will everyone show their support by sharing the news about my challenge to all your friends and family. You can also show support by following me on Instagram (jadam1996), and on there you will find regular updates of my training and come September all the marathon information will be posted, including live video updates.
You will also find the link to my just giving page on Instagram for anyone who wishes to donate.

I hope I have reached out to everyone enough to let you know that you are not suffering alone. There is a whole community of us with the same issues and all you have to do is ask for help or even just drop me a message and tell me YOUR STORY.

Thank you for reading MY STORY.
Stay Strong.”
